Dr. Angie Hubbard on the ABC Television Network's "The City"
Debbi Morgan created the role of Angie on "All My Children" in 1982. Angie, a beautiful and compassionate doctor, moved to "Loving" and Corinth, but has now decided to follow her heart and move to "The City." In SoHo is everything she ever dreamed of -- a new life with a man she adores, and a chance to help the community by opening a neighborhood medical clinic. Angie thinks she has left turmoil behind, but fate is about to step in -- in the form of an eight-year-old child.
Debbi received a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 1989 and garnered an additional Emmy nomination in 1986 as Outstanding Ingenue in a Drama Series for her portrayal of Angie.
Debbi's acting career began in high school in New York's South Bronx, when she landed the role of Puck in a musical version of "A Midsummer Night's Dream." She became involved in workshops run by the Negro Ensemble Company and the New Federal Theater, which led to a Broadway role in Ron Milner's "What the Wine Sellers Buy." She toured with the national company for a year, and since then has also appeared off-Broadway in "Does the Tiger Wear A Necktie?" and Los Angeles productions of "My Sister, My Sister" and "Once in a Wifetime."
Debbi became known to nationwide television audiences as Alex Haley's aunt, Elizabeth Harvey, in "Roots: The Next Generation." She also received critical acclaim for her roles in the television movies, "The Jesse Owens Story" and "The Lennel Jeter Story." She had recurring roles on "Good Times" and "What's Happening"; and guest-starred on numerous prime-time television series such as "The Cosby Show," "A Different World," "Herman's Head" and "Roc." In addition to "All My Children," Morgan played the role of Chantal Marshall on the daytime drama, "Generations."
Debbi currently resides in Manhattan.
